Several years ago I started an errand service. My goals were simple - cornering the market for concierge services in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. People seemed receptive - I even had exclusive rights at a health club that counted approximately 10% of the county as members (roughly 12,000 people). Unfortunately I had two things going against me - one, there were too few individuals interested in my services and two, the businesses I had contacted about offering services required equipment purchases I was in no position to make.
